Re: Nhra stock/super stock question
Good morning, Without knowing any details about year body this engine is in. Not mentioning the transmission and rear end Mfg. it's a little tough to give you a straight answer. Maybe a Super/Stock Modified class but you'll be at a large performance disadvantage. You might want to consider building a correct engine for the "natural" class the car could fit into in NHRA Stock.
Building a competitive Super Stock Modified engine could set you back quite a bit of money. Then you'll be over powering the chassis, there are a lot of things to consider here. I think you should get a NHRA Rule Book and read it thoroughly then start asking questions. Just my advice, having a car and trying to make if fit a class is a tough way to do this. A very good source of information is your division tech director. Good luck and hope to see you at the races.

Re: Nhra stock/super stock question
If you live near GA, NC or SC there is the division 2 national open series that you can run a crate motor stocker. Other than that you are pretty much out of luck. Maybe NSS. But that is not NHRA

Re: Nhra stock/super stock question
Looks like there are two different 305 combos you can run in 1985. Some of the 305 guys can tell you which one is better.
