Ford Performance P/N M-9603-CJN (Air Intake/Box)

The NMCA Technical Department has*approved Ford Performance P/N M-9603-CJN (Air Intake/Box) for 2008 – 2016 Ford Cobra Jet combinations using a 2016 Front Entry Blower in the NMCA Factory Super Cars class. This amendment is effective immediately. Where can I purchase one of these?? Doesn't show searching Ford Performance site.

Thanks ,
TC

I wouldn't spend much money on this kit.

It does have shortcomings although it can be improved dramatically.

Thanks for the info. I will call them. I understand the cost's involved with R&D + supply & demand. $1500 is a lot. I just can't believe with a straight in design like this, RAM AIR , performance gains would not be substantial when perfected. What am I missing? I also know Watson Racing has filled the gaps with innovative CJ parts not available any where else. THANKS.

I seem to recall a similar set-up when the 429 NINGA motor was used in Factory Stock? Picture I saw was one I assume Chris Holbrook had made. Nice design, very custom.

That's simply ridiculous.

What is your goal? What specifically would you like to accomplish with the addition of intake components such as these?

Low volume items like this are expensive. Especially if they have an OEM part number

Anything other than the OEM part would not be legal......

we did have a similar unit on the 429 engine. It was made by Watson but was a 2-piece design so it could be installed with the factory fascia and radiator in place. THe bottom slipped in from the top and then the lid bolted on. I did some basic design work with a Mustang aero engineer that had done wind tunnel testing but not much more than that went into it's development.

I'm not familiar with this new one but I think it's on the 2019 CJ and that has an aftermarket radiator on it (at least the one I saw did). THis inlet could require a different radiator, I'd at least ask before buying.

I have seen two versions of the 429 Ninja air intake, one was aluminum and the other was either fiberglass or carbon fiber. Both of them had the Ford Racing part number ID plate on them.
