3rd Gen F body..throttle linkage?

On a 3rd gen F body with a SBC and carb are you using the stock throttle cable? Or are you using an aftermarket cable? or a rod?

Stock part and return springs on my gen3 q-jet stocker, zero concerns 🏁

Thanks for the reply. I've been running a stock cable and pedal setup. I broke a cable this weekend so since I have to fix it I wanted to make it as good as I could. Looking at how it broke I believe I need to make a positive stop under the pedal. When it popped I could feel the pedal drop a little.

I use the one that bolts on with the intake bolts with no problems. The older style that uses the rear carb bolts is another option and actually a little cleaner looking setup.

OK, so you're using the factory style cable and bracket?

I am using the stock cable set-up. Always make sure the pedal stops on the floor or make an adjustable stop, if you don't, you will stretch the cable and it will fail. I have looked before and could not find anyone that offers a replacement rod linkage to suit these cars.

Thanks for the responses.
The tunnel width and height would make it hard to fabricate a rod setup, not impossible just hard! I felt the cable pop as I launched and the pedal did drop when it did so I was stretching the cable. I do need to make a pedal stop as pushing hard on the pedal was actually pulling hard on the cable.
