Trailer lift shutters when going up, blows breaker

Hello All
I have a Stinger by Axe lift in my stacker.

It starts out going up ok, then it will start to shutter and pop the relay breaker.
After a moment or two it will reset and go up again, it will again start to shutter and blow the breaker/relay. and stop.

I was told to check the bushing in the rollers and have done so, they appear to be tight.
I also was told to clean the tracks and the Plastic bushing and lubricate them with WD 40. which I have done. Neither of which appears to have helped.

Anybody had a similar problem? Does anybody know of someone that works on lifts in Southern MD area?

Thanks in advance

Check the voltage at the lift pump. Sounds like the voltage is low. Check all of your connections and grounds. Is that a 12 V lift?

Hello
Yes it is a 12 volt system. I have tighten everything up I can find.
It does have a over load surge type fuse, was wondering if that may be bad.
Not sure how to check them.
I'll go threw and retighten everything up again, and check the voltage drop.

Thanks again

The 12 v system will require a very high amperage draw. Even the smallest issue with the wiring can cause problems. Have you checked the battery to see if it is up to the task. Some of those lifts have a capacitor in the motor to help with start up. Check the voltage with the motor in operation to see if there is a significant voltage drop. You might also replace the breaker. They can go bad when they are overloaded

The batteries check good they are about 3 years old, and there is a tender on them 24/7. I have ordered a breaker to replace the one on it just to see if it is bad.
I plan to check voltage drop tonight when I get home.

Thanks again

Make sure pump motor is grounded good. I had to run a separate ground wire from the pump to the negative side of the battery to make the lift go up and down smooth.
