If you are talking about the direct clutch..Yes .Some models have an extra clutch or two.

You can just machine the piston and add clutches , if you need them.
We can't begin to make that guess, because we have no idea what you're working on.

As you can imagine, light duty, 4 , 6 cylinder cars would have less. You should be able to figure that out by the code on the tag, if you're shopping cores.

Chuck if you are talking about a turbocharged car. I would be careful of the lightweight tricks. Many things that are done to fairly high power V8's won't stand the rapid torque of a quick spooling turbo.

Like I was saying..It doesn't much matter..The later ones had more Torrington bearings .

If I was going to build a good one, I'd use parts from a T350 , T 250, and a 700R4 anyway
Depends on the application how many clutches you need ,where.
Can't help you any further without that.

In that case ,I'd build a 350C , 9 or 10 " conv. with a lock up clutch in it, 3.55 gears.
No need for the 700 and 250 parts...You can put and extra clutch in the direct if it makes you happy.
Full feed the direct drum, raise the pressure A LITTLE , hardened intermediate sprag race, (a must have), block the accumulators and the low gear blow off valve, drill a out few holes in the separator plate, and you got it.
