Sunoco supreme

race fuel, i have been using this fuel for some time but need to know if there are any other fuels that can help pick up the ET a little more.I am pretty close to the index at 10.55 but have not tried any other fuels to see if they help (mostly because of the expense)but if there are any that has used Sunoco supreme and pick up ET using other fuels i will sure try it.

To be honest we did not see any difference between the Sunoco Standard 110 Octane @ $6.58 a gallon and VP 110 @ 12.00 a gallon. If you look at a chart that contains all of the fuel attributes that are legal for NHRA racing fuels for stock/super stock, I don't see a whole lot of difference.

You might try VP C11, you will probably have to fatten it up a bit. My car prefers that over Sunoco.

Sunoco Supreme & C12 are close to one another in preformance....C11 MAY pick the car up....it will want less timing then Sunoco.

We use Sunoco purple in both cars. Found Sunoco blue and C11 & 12 just to cost more.

I ran C-11 last year. I run Sunoco Purple now. My car seemed to fire better on the C-11, but runs the same on the Sunoco. Half the price to boot.

WOW! I`ve been paying 8.05 a gallon at a local track for Sunoco Purple. What`s everyone else been paying for "Purple"?

Sunoco Purple also seems to be one of the more "stable" fuels. Never had a problem with it in fuel check.

It's possible to pick up ET slightly by changing fuels , even brands of fuel . The pick up could come from increased torque , increased power , better throttle response , or a little of all of the above . Usually , any pick up you see will be due to the new fuel being a little more compatible with your engine specs and set-up .
And yes , some brands of race fuel are a lot more expensive than others. But spending a lot more isn't really necessary . Compare race fuels that offer the motor octane you need .

Mike you are absolutely right. If you have a car that is a 9:1 or 9.5:1 it is going to be less sensetive to fuel compared to a motor that is 12.5:1.

Our motor is 9:1 and I'll be willing to bet we could get it to run pretty good on a fuel with a lot less octane rating than 110.
