BB Olds bearings
Is anyone aware of availability of a .050 under bearing for the 455 Olds rods?? If not, is there a suitable undersize that I can grind my crank to and use a different bearing??? Thanks.

Re: BB Olds bearings
Marvin, what are you trying to do? Repair a bad journal?

Re: BB Olds bearings
You got it, #5 rod took the journal down .004 when it spun, and the crank is already .040 under (.013 offset). I'm getting a lot of negatives trying to get the crank welded..... if I have to replace it, can I use the Eagle cast crank in stock??

Re: BB Olds bearings
Nope. Aftermarket crankshafts are not legal in Stock. I know Olds cranks are getting hard to find. At least good ones are. So are blocks.

Re: BB Olds bearings
Do you really need .013 on a 455 Olds??? HAHA If it were SS you could offset grind a 425 crank and use 454 bearings.

Re: BB Olds bearings
Marvin: When the crank is stroked .013", it is also "indexed" as well, insuring that the rod throws are truly 90° apart. It shouldn't be too hard finding a suitable replacement crank, I'm not hoarding all of them.
