You will have to look at the Classification sheets to see where the changes are actually applied. The announcements documents can be confusing.

Wish NHRA would publish the data base averages like they used to so that decisions can be better understood.

I saw the 428 on the list but mine was already at 388 and I’m not finished yet either! Lol

What I don't understand is that an engine family like the 302, 1967 to 1969 are all the same HP, yet just the 1969 350/300 got HP, why not all the other years?

Different casting number intake manifold. 67 & 68 same castings, 69 different .

Same as the 302 with casting numbers, they are different, but I don't think I can use a '67's. It's still all in the family.

Is the crank pin smaller on the 67 302, so does that make three different engines

# 610 intake can be used all 3 years.

67 302 is a small journal and 68/9 are large journals, so they are different but considered same engine family with same hp.
I guess the 67/8 are considered 295 HP.

Thank you NHRA for the Christmas gift.

Thank the person who did it, not who set the rules to race by.

Since there is no tech, which is an NHRA issue, most of the rules are irrelevant.

If a 54 year old combination is getting hp we don’t have a hp problem we have an index problem across the board . There have been a lot of advancements in stock and ss since the last index adjustments. We cant just simply keep adding weight to combo’s.

Some cars didn't get advancements in stock that the Chevy's did. My car already had a solid cam, adjustable shaft rockers, a thick rigid block, good valves, double springs, a good mani, more than enough carb CFM, a good front and rear suspension and good rods and crank. Most older cars shouldn't have to add weight, moving up a class is a good option as very few older cars would need to be higher than the AA/SA class.
