Expensive visor raise
Greg Anderson fined 5k for raising visor before getting off track

Re: Expensive visor raise
Nobody forces him to have an in-car camera used for ESPN...nobody likes to lose but his disgust at the end of a losing run is almost comical. He first flips the window latch and then starts going after his safety equipment. Face it, he's still traveling at a pretty good clip and probably isn't aware if a competitor is having trouble in the shutdown area.

Re: Expensive visor raise
Chump change for a team with their budget. I'll bet it wasn't his first warning. NASCAR fine would have been much larger. Loss of points too.

Re: Expensive visor raise
How much do you think it would have been if they had got all tangled up while on camera?

Just NHRA being a wannabe NASCAR deal.
A warning would have been sufficient. FJ |

Re: Expensive visor raise
Just wondering how many classes have this rule. I was not aware that I had to have my visor down to go down the track.

Re: Expensive visor raise
It's kinda hot in those cars with all that stuff on. I never lowered my visor until I saw this video.

From my understanding they(elite team) had wired it in to also shut down the fuel as it normally only shuts down ignition and releases the chutes. |
Re: Expensive visor raise
I just got around to watching the Summit Nationals race last night on my DVR, and every eliminations round, he never closed his visor when going down the track. Bet the cameras are coming out of the Summit cars. Any other driver could be doing the same and had it not been televised, know one would have seen it.

Re: Expensive visor raise
The only thing that makes televised Pro drag racing half-way interesting is the in-car cameras. I'll bet I'm not alone with that thought. And now I'll bet most, if not all, pro teams pull the cameras out. Another reason not to watch TV coverage.

Re: Expensive visor raise
It seems Mr Anderson has been warned repeatedly about lifting his visor--- NHRA has warned him both verbally and in writing over the past several years----FED387
