Michael I.

I just liked your response and asked a question. Then Beard got into it and I had to reiterate. I believe this lollygagging thing is for eliminations. I myself go up at different times during time trials, I also like the possibility of a single and do try to arrive last myself at times. Just depends on the situation that I want to create.

When we ran at Belle Rose I believe we were in the middle of the pack. I guess my question to you was are you a lollygagger during Eliminations. I did not believe so, as what happed at Belle Rose. But from what I read during the beginning of this thread, I thought that something might be amiss. Just a question.

On a different note, remember when it was your birthday at Gainesville several years ago and I informed you about being over the hill at what age?

What am I missing.Mike said he likes to come up late and maybe get a single. On a ladder if you go in early and your guy doesn't show up you get a single run.If you show up late same thing.Where's there an advantage??????????????????????
Wanna stop all this *****?After last qualifying run all drivers go to the lanes and the race staff tells them who their opponent is and that a LAST call will be made at so and so time.
If you come in after that tuff titties.
Me myself I could care less when my opponent comes in the lanes. But maybe this will stop long drawn out hissy fights here about rediculous topics.

Just race, no games.

Re: "Lollygaggers"

What about this situation ?? What if a racers wants to be the first pair or so to run . Will the lollies show to run them ??? They should
because the racers wait for them to show up late huh. Hmmm now shoe on other foot >

Just about everyone knows why the are they lollies and so do they but they act like they can do what ever they want ,ask NHRA about this ????

Now I know for a fact that NHRA is announcing all racers to the lanes as all should do we all agree with this of course , or maybe NHRA should say all racers to the lanes except the lollies you racers can sandbag ??? Now what would happen if 30 racers want to be lollies ??? Can they all wait until the last minute???

now if a racer is running two cars it should be your responsibility to be on time not other racers who are doing exactly what NHRA is saying to do come to the lanes , or maybe NHRA should announce all racers to the lanes except those who are running two cars take your time? lol

Re: "Lollygaggers"

This about sums it up..

"When I'm up in the lanes, I'm not there to BS with people," he said. "I don't want to be their friend. I'm almost always one of the last people to get there, and it's not some psychological game I'm playing. It's because I stay at my trailer, poring over my logbook, trying to think of every last thing I might not have thought of, until the last possible second. I see people roll out of their pit area with their dial already on the window and think, 'You're kidding, right? How can you know already?' I've pulled into the water with by logbook still sitting on my lap. It's like, 'Okay, I'm holding two, the wind is worth one, the temperature is worth another two…' I'm always game-planning right up to the last second."

Re: "Lollygaggers"

Here is my opinion for what it is worth. I have always tried to get to the lanes as soon as I hear the first call. Just my preference. As far as getting stuck next to a hitter, I feel that if the guy next to me has a better average reaction time or is better at dialing in his car than me then good for him. I will do my best and that is all I can do. Of course I will concentrate on making better decisions but at the end of the day all that is important to me is that I had a good time. If I lose first round so be it. I have made plenty of friends on here and at the track so I will just go over and root for them. I always say the same prayer before I stage for me and the guy or girl in the other lane to make it safely down the track and I always shake hands win or lose with the person I race. I know some of you may think that I am not competitive enough but this is about good times and great friends for me. I wish all of you luck and win or lose I can promise you I will always be there to help you when you need it and root for you when your racing even if it means me loading up early.

Re: "Lollygaggers"

This thread is really getting ridiculous. Some of you guys should quit racing here and go to work for NASA.After all you are rocket scientists right. And others are so obsessed with the guys who win a lot that they're beat as soon as they learn who they have on the ladder.
Go up into the lanes, take your weather readings and put your dial on and race.Is that so %ucking complicated?

As long as the guys running the events dont think it's a problem that has to be done something about,i guess we just have to face it and sit back and relax,I think anyone serious about winning should use it to thier advantage, collect as much data as possible before running!

[QUOTE=bsa633;182083]As long as the guys running the events dont think it's a problem that has to be done something about,

Thats just it......next time you are around an official who is working the staging lanes just ask him what he thinks about the guys dragging ***. It just makes the job worse than it should be and the "Ivory Tower" officials dont have a clue other than they bitch over the radio (the racers never hear this) about why are the lanes not full or why are they not ready to go, etc. so going to your Div Director or the guy running the tower wont prove anything.
