Just make sure you go to a few Cemeteries on Memorial Day and Veterans Day to scrub clean every veterans tombstone there who have helped allowed YOU the honor to post and condem here. |

Re: "Lollygaggers"
Wow, man do you guys take the fun out of racing. Does it really matter if your opponent is in the lanes when you get there. If you have to wait, is it really that big of a deal. You guys have already put yourself out of the race by getting so annoyed about having to wait for your opponent. Instead of being annoyed, use the time to your advantage. Listen to the runs and to see if people are running their number. Pay attention to the wind, there is so much you can do to help your program while waiting. For me its a blessing when I have to wait for my opponent. I get to go over ever aspect of the run, the more info I have the better chance I have at wining.
Making a positive out of a negative will give you a better chance of wining, and most of all, it makes your racing experience more enjoyable. With all things to be upset about, waiting for your opponent seems to be trivial at best. Mike, Larry has been beating me up for years on Class Racer without using my name. Remember I have a paper car, but with the new CJ's and DP's the heat is now on them. I wouldn't take it personally, its obvious to me why some racers don't like to wait, its not the waiting, its who they are waiting for. |
Re: "Lollygaggers"
Hey--try running two SS cars in the race-one with a 19 year old and your self--try putting enough space between you, so you dont have to run your old fat- out of breath -*** off from the water box to the back of the lanes get strapped in and control you breathing so you dont go RED--and try and have a good time--trust me it brings a new meaning to Lollygaggers--it is very poetic that this topic came up after this weekend ?? go figure--later--Emmett

Please don't help the competition, if we wanted them to know any positive aspects we'd have posted them. It much better to be in their head dude!! |
Re: "Lollygaggers"
You're right. Everybody should wait until last call. That'd be awesome.
Seems like the only ones who "proceve" an advantage to waiting are those who do it. If someone's really worried about having weather data closer to the time of making the run, then go up early instead of waiting through 50 pairs of cars. The discussion has nothing to do with a driver's ability -- regardless of which side of the argument a person is on. I remember a race at Maple Grove in the late '90s when Bob Lang threatened to cancel a Comp session when NONE of them came to the lanes after being called several times. Somehow, they found their way to the staging lanes pretty quick after that! I am a proponent of common sense, coupled with a dash of courtesy. |
