Just based off what I've read, I've yet to see a highly competitive combo in SG hitting the .400 tree on small tires. I do not think you can reliably hit the tire hard enough to get a hold of the tree unless you're reaction time is inhuman. SST is the way to go, you'll have more than enough time to plant the tire softly on the .500 tree. Also, the safetly changes that occur at 135 are really not a huge deal if you already take it seriously. Window net, gloves, closed face helmet are the main changes, but most people have that stuff anyway. 1000hp in SST at 2800# (min weight) would probably get you in the neighborhood of 150mph. If that's the case, the safety changes do become rather large. HANS device etc.

No change in the safety rules at all.

Now, if you are on the slow end of Super Street (under 135 MPH) you can wear a thinner fire suit, no gloves, no window net) that you could never wear in SG.

Good day all. My new username is wkcook, not warrenc. (lost password) I have my motor back. Many thanks to Bruce @ ABS Competition Engines in Regina, Canada. Any suggestions on PG transmission builders in Canada or along the northern USA border states?

Not to be that guy that throws out a useless recommendation, but the best powerglide builder I've run across and most reasonably priced is Bernard Weaver at Weaver Automotive. I'm sure if you can get linked up with him he can ship you whatever you need. I've had his transmission in my car for over 10 years and made over 2000 passes. No signs of wear. I believe he lives somewhere near Richmond Virginia

Bishop's Performance in Grand Rapids Minnesota looks to be fairly close to you. Chris is an excellent .90 racer and transmission builder. He should be able to build you exactly what you need. I believe he is a Hughes distributor as well.
