I agree with Frank!

However, I had no luck with the 2 Brl. on my 318.

The latter 318s like we run and set the record with = Have
a BIG four barrel carb and run O and P and are Fast and
less temperamental.

340/383/440 are all quite good!

Again im new at this, looks like all 318 in 69 came with a 2bbl but I would be able to use a 4 bbl

If it’s listed in the guide you can if not listed you can’t. However you decide, welcome to the madness. Looking forward to seeing the results.

Welcome to class racing, and look forward to another entry in the ACSSA. The 318 2bbl may be your best bet as a budget combo unless you want to make it fast. But we have many local racers in the maritimes running 340's so there is some experience and spare parts for those around. Also I have a 383 here going to together that could get you into the game.

No 4 Brl in 318s until '76 model year as I remember.

340 is easy and I would be happy to help!

PM me anytime.

Providing you are happy to go .5 to .7 under

1.00+.......Well that is a different storfy!

The poor 2 bbl is getting a bad rap. It works just fine on the one I help with on Paul Wong's 273 U/S. There is a gentleman in division 5 (Kevin Leinart) with a 318 2 bbl 69 Dart that has good results. Rest in peace Mike Smith nick named (.530 Mike) was a tough racer to beat with his U/SA Plymouth wagon. Many others do really well (Billy Nees). They get effected by the element. That is why you have to have good testing records. The reason it is a budget combo is because there are less cars in those classes. You can still spend good money on any combination to make it cool.

Enjoy yourself and have fun competing. Fast cars don't jump for joy running the slower cars:)

Lots of people run 2 barrel carbs. It takes some testing and GOOD record keeping to find the right set-up. I have several friends that run small motors with small carbs - records and testing.

Bottom line - good luck and have fun. Listen to people that run small motors and small carbs. They will help you the most.
