Re: Need help finding my (grimlin)
Probably the biggest problem I've seen on alot of cars is guys seem to run the idle very lean, the manifold MUST be full of fuel vapors or you will certainly have a stumble on quick throttle application. I'm not sure you can put a big enough squirter in it to overcome this issue. Look at it this way when you jab the throttle fuel comes out the squirters at the top of the carb, how long do you think it takes that fuel to reach the cyls? It's not instant hence your hesitation, you need that manifold rich with fuel to have the necc. responce to throttle angle change. Joe

Re: Need help finding my (grimlin)
I have had customers that had problems similar. It happens after the car/boat sits without much use. Check to see if the needles below the squirters are stuck. More common a problem with alky & race fuel than with pump gas.

As far as the original post, make sure you check the cap, rotor, wires, etc... other things can cause your issue. Excessive plug gaps can put a high load on the ignition system especially with the newer Digital ignitions. I melted an HEI cap center terminal with a Digital 7. |
