Someone said that there is a difference on each combo with the air inlet throttle size ? Is this true and what are the sizes if it is?? |
Re: GT/AA Class War At Indy
Are you refering to the air inlet on the hood ? if so , then yes , the WS6 hood has the "nostrils" , so-to-speak , that would allow more air in , but not sure how much hp is there .... The current stock hp ratings are now that the "flat" hood combination is rated at 369 hp vs. the WS6 hood at 364 hp .. go figure.
I'm still fairly new to this 4th gen stuff , but trying to learn as much as possible . You buy those Michelins yet ? Mike |
Re: GT/AA Class War At Indy
Lynn, please tell me where you get your entry lists. I went to the NHRA website at 3:23 P.M. Eastern Time and printed the Indy S/S entry list and there are only 21 cars on it; beginning with #21 SS/JA Jerry Holman, and ending with #799J SS/AH John Rains. I would love to have the updated info that you have; I will really appreciate it if you could tell me where you obtain it.

Re: GT/AA Class War At Indy
Looks like Frank Grossi has the combo to beat. 100 cu in more than the 350's and less weight. That will be hard to overcome. The 400 chevies also look good. I have been told the make equal HP on the dyno as the 350 and have more torque plus less weight. The 350/295/327 seems to have been factored out of the top spot due to the HP hits it has taken over the past two years. Those guys have been flogging that combo very heavy. We will soon see what they have left. Good luck guys.

Re: GT/AA Class War At Indy
Anybody know what combo Grossi is using? I haven't found it in the guide yet.

Re: GT/AA Class War At Indy
But the question is, will a front wheel car with a big block get down the track??

Isnt there a big difference on the throttle bodies of the LS-1's? I know I put a RA hood on my wife's 99 TA and did nothing else, and the performance difference was like night and day. I changed nothing else. |

Remember people can change classes from the entry list, so it isnt cast in stone. |
Re: GT/AA Class War At Indy
The 325 and 310 rated LS1 for the Pontiac Firebird are the same engine , just rated differently for the hood application .The LS1 Camaro is rated at 310 for the same year. Same throttle body , same everything ... it's all there in the NHRA blue print specs .
