Grip factor: information research
I need your help in order to understand the GRIP data giving on occasion. (NHRATV)
(ex: 3230 newton N) How to collect those data? How to calculate? How to interpret those data? Is there a specific scale of measure? What could be the best number (ballpark) on a data scale? I'm just trying to upgrade my knowledge here... Thanks, Charles Stewart |

Charles,
Interested myself as well. I have assumed it is just a reading off of some brand of "grip meter" that the track specialists use. Assuming higher is better I hope to get a feel for what is a slippery track and a sticky track. Any better information would be appreciated. Bill |

Tucson checks with grip meter at starting, 1/8, 1000ft. Usually top end maybe a round 250 on scale. Starting line most events around 410 to 450 on meter
