Support Vehicle Tires And Brakes
Don’t forget to check the tires for age. Old tires will let you down on a hot day. We carry a mounted spare for the truck and trailer. Mounted spares will save time and money.

Re: Support Vehicle Tires And Brakes
In my case the calendar advances faster than the odometer on my truck and trailer tires.
It kills me to replace tires that have so much tread on them. However experience has told me it is necessary. |

Also a good time to check your trailers running gear. Just freshened mine up.

Just a tip. But when your not using your motor home and trailer. If it’s not parked inside. Cover the tires. They’ll last a lot longer before they start cracking from the sun. They make covers for them. But a Black Friday $.89 sheet works too if your cheap like me.

Edit: I got to wondering so I googled why tires on a sitting vehicles dry rot faster than a vehicle being used. It’s because tires are kept moist by the oils and resins in them. And they need the pressure of being used to activate them. (That’s the short version) can’t figure out how to post a picture of the whole explanation or I would. Re: Support Vehicle Tires And Brakes
I keep 2 mounted spares for the trailer, and I have an extra for my truck too if I travel any distance. I keep my tires covered when trailer is parked and still lost a tire recently, 2 years old and I didn't race last year so minimal miles. Blew out the back sidewall.

Re: Support Vehicle Tires And Brakes
If you took your trailer for a short spin every month the tires would not crack as quickly? I will try it anyway. It will be way cheaper than buying tires.

Re: Support Vehicle Tires And Brakes
If to raise your trailer off the ground in the off season they will last longer. Having weight on them sitting in one spot for 5 or 6 months will make them blow out faster. I used trailer legs or jack stand on my tag for years. Cured the 2 -3 year all the tires started to blow out. On the gooseneck I have now, I just lower the front down as far as it will go then put jack stands under the back of the frame and then raise the front back up. All tires are now off the ground. Tires will last much longer.
