Default 1985 z28

I have a question! I have a 1985 z28 IHRA crate motor car with a 350 and a glide that I bracket race .If I wanted to run NHRA stock eliminator what are my options ? Do I have to run a 305 ? And can I run a glide or do I need a 3 speed ? I am from Canada and will mostly run a couple of combo races so I think I could run it as a crate motor car at those races but am interested in making it an NHRA stocker. Not looking to brake records I just already own the car and want to have some fun thanks in advance !

You will have to run the 305 and I would look to see what combo would be the best. In 85 to 87 they had a few different 305 combinations and one might be easier. To update the body from year to year is easy. ( hood and bumpers). The 3 speed trans is faster and a metric 200 would be the way to go. Good luck . What part of Canada are you from?

You can run a 350 in it and i think the best 350 combo is a 90 Camaro.
Or a 305 definitely in any year.

90 was 1st year of flat top 350, 88 is least factored 350 but it is a dish piston motor. 85-90 z28 is same car outside with exception of cluster in 90 model. If you want a carb motor then 305 is your only option and that combo I think is best in a 84/85 coupe car, not a z28. I think 86 up all had ground effects.
