Trailer tires
Has anyone used 2 sets of trailer tires ? one set for when trailer is stored, and another when using the trailer, my trailer has 5200lb axles with 15" tires, I bought 16" wheels and Firestone Transforce HT LT225/75-16 to replace the 15" wheels, and Goodyear marathon's.
Good idea, or a waste of time ?

Re: Trailer tires
The killer with trailer tires is when they sit on the ground and don't move for 4 to 6 months. I have a friend in comp the puts junk tires on his trailer every winter. His regular tires went probably 10 years. I started raising my trailer off the ground on jack stands at first, I now use trailer legs, much easier. Before I started getting the tires off the ground over the winter I would start getting blowouts about every 3 years like clock work. Current tires on on the trailer 5 years. I am also using LT for the first time. Tires wear is much better.
