The old Sears/Penske 244.2138 is the same as the old chrome light MSD used to sell. The Sears/Craftsman 28-2134 is the previous version. Find them on ebay, sometimes new, unused. There's also an old MSD 8990 on there now that looks to be in good shape.
The newer lights made by Ferret, or a Ferret light, are good. Not going to be under $100 when you find one though. Get a straight light , no advance knobs or gizmos. |

That is a great light for MSD as there are a lot of lights that work but are not accurate when using with MSD boxes. |

I personally really like the battery powered Flaming River light. Great for race cars where power is sometimes hard to connect to:

Buy it from Aaron. They are both good lights, and look at the great job
he's doing with the podcast. J.R. |

I thought about a self powered timing light but every review says they are not bright enough
