Looking for opinions on who builds the best 904 transmission for a 340. And what gear ratios work best. Thank you.

ProTrans, A-1 and Joel's On Joy are the best.
Gear ratios depend on which year of 340 you will be running and the car weight.

Pro Trans builds ALL ours!

Ratio depends on weight and altitude you run at and a
couple other things....Not set in Stone!

I spoke to Joel yesterday- a real nice down to earth guy whom is extremely busy (68 Factory Stocker Trans to do) we will talk again at his convenience about a 904 but a nice guy without a doubt - must be a well kept secret or I have been an ostrich but thanks for the referral
