How far in front of the carburetor should the opening of the hood scoop be???
This is for a SS/CS car with a 318 CU Chevy small block with a 750 Book Carb. Your input would be appreciated. Thanks, Bob Lasko |

The distance will vary based on the hood scoop design and the constraints of the rule book as regards to size. One of the most important things is to make sure the carburetor has a pan that provides a good seal against the hood scoop. Take a look at these article: http://www.onallcylinders.com/2015/0...op-technology/ If you can find a copy, the old Direct Connection technical manuals had a great chapter on hood scoop design and optimum location. |
