need a new helmet, looking at bell, are any bell helmets made in the us, or any other helmets for that matter? thanks ron

When I found that Bell is now Chinese, I got a designed in USA, mfg in China G-Force carbon fiber helmet a couple years ago. Saved over a pound, same price range even though carbon fiber instead of fiberglass or whatever standard helmets are made of. My thinking is that if it meets Snell standards, it is safe.

I like the Simpson Helmets and they are one of the few companies that still have a trailer on the manufacturer's midway. Great people to deal with

I work in the auto industry and my experience with the Chinese is, although they are capable from a manufacturing standpoint, they have to be watched very closely from a material and specification standpoint. I don't know how far the Snell testing goes when it comes to testing crash helmets.
