My 68 charger has issues hooking with transbrake, foot brake it hooks fine with a 1.50 60ft . The car weighs 3350 with driver. 440 ci, 688hp,620 Ftlbs, 5000 stall,4.56 gear, 727. Any thoughts of what is happening. In the video I launch at 3600. The ladder bars are parallel with the ground. I have single adj qa1 in the rear set on 2 clicks from full soft and dbl adjustables Qa1 in the front set on 2 clicks rebound, 10 clicks comp. I haven't tried tightening up rear shocks yet. I would like to here some opinions thanks. [ame]http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=WBGRDKZsQsw[/ame]

Make sure the rear shocks are long enough in extension so they don't lift the wheels at full rise.

What Larry said, plus I'd be curious if you've moved the front Ladder Bar pivot point downward and tried that. Moving the CG forward might help transfer the weight better. With that much power you should be in the 1:30's sixty foot.

68…Looks like Saskatoon and you've got Bernie watching over you. Are your 60's consistent with the footbrake? Do you know the weight bias of your car? MB.

I don't no the weight bias of the car. But I was thinking of moving the bar down to take some hit off the tire. I think ill try a few clicks up on the rear shocks and see where that gets me. Then if that doesn't help ill move the bar down. Yup this is in Saskatoon and Bernie was keeping a close eye. The car is consistent with foot brake at 1.506-1.508 60ft.

68…How long are your ladder bars? We were there a couple weekends ago with a Blue 1966 Chevy II SS/GA car. We had some trouble getting out to about the 100' mark Friday night and early Saturday morning at the track opener. I had to get after the track crew, that were soaking the burnout area with too much water. I started taking care of that area for the remainder of the weekend for all our passes, and we got things under control. I watched several cars on the starting line and noticed lots of wheel spin. My theory on it was, by the time the car was staged the excess water that was up in the tub was dripping onto the tops of the tires and keeping us from moving out of the gate without spinning. I explained it to the young fellow looking after the left lane and he understood what I meant. He started using less water and sweeping it more tightening up the wet area and for some reason the left lane became faster? MB.

The ladder bars are 36" comp engineering set Parallel with the ground. Ya they get crazy with the water there and I have had problems with soaking the wheel well and loosing traction last year. I started driving about 4 feet ahead of the water box to start my burnout and never a had a problem after that. But good call on telling them to sweep more than spray more. Too much water in the burnout box causes alot of problems for guys. That's a nice super stock chevy ll by the way.

68…Try and lower your rear ride height 1/2-1" and see if that will help before dropping the ladder bar, your shock adjustments may already be okay. In a ladder bar construction I have always used the wheelbase divided by 3, in your case it would be 39" (at 117" W.B.). Not saying that what you have won't work, it will just require a little more tuning. Keep any trunk weight as high and as far back as you can legally. I really enjoyed my weekend at SIR, met some really nice people. It was my first time out to Saskatchewan, is it ever frickin' flat!!! Got picked up in Regina and slept for 45 minutes on the way to Yorkton, woke up and the scenery was still the same. The car came from "Good Old Mr. Wilson" in South Carolina and it was our first race with it. Bought it off ClassRacer classifieds it was "totally represented as advertised" and we were very happy with our initial results. "Good Luck" with your season…MB.
