Arizona Nationals Run Schedule
Received the run schedule for this weeks Arizona Nationals and once again NHRA is taking something away from us. Only 2 qualifying runs are scheduled for everyone except Top Dragster & Top Sportsman.
Hey NHRA, you say you care about the Sportsman racer, well how about you give something back instead of continuing to take away. If it's going to be the norm to only get 2 qualifying runs at a 3 day National event, then reduce the entry fee. NHRA has no problem raising the entry fee when an event is more than 4 days (Indy), so reduce it at a 3 day National. If this is how it will be, then this will be the last 3 day National I attend. The cost is far exceeding the return. Now that Fontana is back up and running, I will have plenty of other options to race. Especially if a Stk/Super Stk series gets put together.

Re: Arizona Nationals Run Schedule
Toby, stop it LOL
Brett, I understand the pain and it gets worse when you compare Pomona to Phoenix with car counts and categories. Pomona's schedule ran smoothly until the rain, that said, with the way NHRA have enhanced the schedule for a 4 day race you and your equipment can, conceivably, be home by lunch time Friday!! Take the weekend off. If you're on a roll, Saturday can be great fun, ie. down to 4 cars for the Sunday show !! I kinda like that. However, when you try to condense the same amount of cars as Pomona into a 3 day race (for an unknown reason, except expenditure/gains reason ) someones gonna get shoved oughta the way, guess who ?? Pomona quota was 463, actual entries 405 at 87% Phoenix quota is 448, actual entries 405 at 90.4% I realize there are different categories racing at the two events but really ?? I do know that Phoenix is rated as a 'B' race however, population? You go boy, getch'a some money back, I'll be right behind ya. LOL

We just had one with lots of payout, plenty of time runs and three qualifiers, alon with perfect weather.......we struggled to get 20 cars in the gate! 20 cars!!!!!!! Maybe when Fontana opens we can attract 25!! |
