Completely up to the individuals involved. Just come to an agreement before the race. It will be different depending on who's paying for what: car, consumables (tires, fuel, etc.), entry fees. If all the driver does is show up and drive, the percentage will likely be different than if the driver brought entry fees, transportation, tires, fuel, etc. to the table.

Pay all "out of pocket" expenses from the winners purse, and then split the rest as agreed upon.
But remember, the recipe for rabbit stew starts with.... first - you catch a rabbit..... Before splitting anything, there has to be something to split.. Good luck and safe racing. David The New Hemi Guy |

We have used the 50-50 method on prize money with the driver paying his own entry fee and we supplied the car ready to go, just add driver.

We have loaned cars many times.........Last time at 2012 Divisional in
Vegas. Borrower pays his entry fee and fuel. He keeps whatever his skills earn him. We USUUALY loan to people that are our friends or support our racing with their help.....before all the texts come in! If someone needs it in the points chase out West, we have done it for folks we do not know...but there must be a good reason to borrow it in that case. Irving Family Racing |

If a National or Divisional, dont forget the sticker money. This is a little harder, as they take time to pay (IF they pay in some cases).
I have agreed to: driver pays entry, then split 50-50, with owner getting the sticker money. ALWAYS have the agreement first. As said already... First you gotta get the rabbit! LOL Good luck. |

While you are at it, decide who pays if the driver wrecks the car, and can he sue you if a part like a tie rod breaks. It is amazing how quickly friends become adversaries.
