Live from VALDOSTA... lol are you kidding
So riddle me this Batman... we are sitting here at Valdosta... its 2:10 pm and so far this is what the situation is... yesterday as everyone knows it was a huge downpour.. we were able to get stock and super stock a run.. and then race was called due to weather..
well, this morning it is VERY VERY windy.. they have changed it to 1/8 mile racing and have decided that its FAIR that all .90 classes get a shot on 1/8 mile and stock and super stock will go straight into eliminations... REALLY?!? Conditions have changed since then and the whole race set up has changed going from 1/4 to 1/8... but the reasoning given was its fair because they have computers so that makes it fair.... I am sorry.. just dont agree.. we paid the same price as everyone else to be here, and while I understand delays, I think that stock and super stock should be allowed one run to hit the 1/8 mile..... one more reason why I HATE division 2 racing sometimes!!!! Thoughts?!? |

I think if you have good data, dialing 1/8 mile is not a challenge. However the super classes an index classes will have to make actual setup changes to hit their 1/8 index. There's gonna be a whole lot less time on the stop for a lot of cars in the super classes.
That said, it would have been nice to give everyone a shot today.

I agree, the problem is that stock and super stock have been in trailers for over 24 hours... conditions have changed drastically.. I mean it was about 70 degrees yesterday, muggy, and rainy.. it was sprinkling during the stock and super stock divisions yesterday.. lol then today we have 48 degrees and 30mph winds... and low humidity... and NO DATA!! Insane.. I understand giving everyone a run... but all the other classes are getting 2 or 3 and we are getting NONE...

Re: Live from VALDOSTA... lol are you kidding
Chad beat me to it. There are differences in throttle-stop timing to run 5.70 1/8 mile and 8.90 1/4 mile. If I can find an example, I'll post it.
*edit* From the Div 4 LODRS, they are running 1/4 mile there at Houston.. Three Super Gas cars just ran. Their Indexes are 6.30 and 9.90. The three cars just ran 6.892/9.873; 6.975/9.894; 6.815/9.939. Oh, and a Super Comp (5.70 and 8.90) just ran 6.129 and 8.900. Different setting to run the two Indexes, based on 1/8 mile race vs 1/4 mile race; hence the need for an additional time trial. Then again, if they dropped the silly timers and stuff from the cars, there'd be no need for additional time trials. That should get me flamed...

Re: Live from VALDOSTA... lol are you kidding
But for a lot of stock and super stock there are differences when dealing with this kind of weather changes as well... EVERYONE should be able to get ONE run at least.. not 2 or three to certain classes... if they have time to have that many runs then everyone could have had at least 1 with no issues... its not our fault that we race without a computer... we should not be penalized for them having to rely on one.. make them guess about it for once.. we are always the ones that get the raw end of the deal when it comes to time runs..

Mike here's your example in sc big mph car will probably run way slower than 5.70 st the 1/8 to run 8.90 and a low mph car will run way faster than 5.70 to run 8.90

Re: Live from VALDOSTA... lol are you kidding
I get that they need it for throttle stops but EVERYONE should be given ONE... that would have been fair.. given the situations with weather..
I know super street got more than one... why? That makes no sense.. Why one category over another.. stock and super stock will not get ANY today.... one would have been better than none.. Last edited by FlyingW; 03-04-2012 at 03:39 PM. |
