Anyone pick up much from switching from a "clutch assisted" Jerico/G-force to a "clutchless transmission" in Super Stock since the rule change?
Thanks Sean

Doubt anyone was using the clutch before but that would be a good question to see answered. I've seen claims of 2-4 tenths gain by shifting a clutch type trans clutchless but personally can't see that.

Rob Youngblood has made the test and shows about .08 quicker on his SS/J. That's a direct comparison of a clutch tranny shifted clutchless to a clutchless tranny. Part of the equation is getting a more finite clutch tune. For those that don't seek a clutch tune to the nth degree your results will not be as great.
He also has made an inducer pick-up for a data-logger on the input shaft. You have to send him your trans for the machine work and install. It's around $285. I just contacted Jerico and they will send me a Jerico box to use in shipping for $40. Anybody make a plastic Jerico shipping container?

I know mine isn't a Super Stocker but when we made the switch from our Doug-Nash 4+1 to the Liberty, we went from cosistant (mid) 9.20's @ (about) 146 to (low) 9.0's / (high) 8.9's in the 149 - 150 range.

We seen 9 hundreths in the eighth over a tranny we were shifting literally with the clutch engaged every gear. Now, keep in mind, we never changed clutch set-ups at that time. We now have a new dual disc youngblood that we still have high hopes for. Hope this helps.

Jeff, try Schribner Plastics. I have one of their manual trans shipping containers and it will fit most except the Liberty Equalizer.

I got a question for Hudlow 66. You are running a stick in s/c or s/g?

I didn't see a manual trans container but I emailed an inquiry. Thanks for the tip!
