When figuring the weight for a super stocker you can add or subtract 250lbs from the classification weight. Is the driver weight (170lbs) included in the computation. For example I have a 92 ciera with a classification weight of 2955. My hp is 250. Would I be legal in GT/JA. 12.50x250=3125+170=3295. I guess I am good if you don't include the driver weight.

you have to do the calculation of what classes it fits in first.
so you would take your 2955 and subtract 250 to get 2705. then add 250 and get 3205. take 2705 and divide it by your motor rating of 250 to get 10.82. take 3205 and divide it by the 250 to get 12.82. Making your combo legal in GT/FA but you would have to run at the 10.82 factor not the class minimum of 10.50. Then you would also be legal in GT/GA, HA, IA, JA. In JA you again could not run any heavier than the 12.82 factor (Not that a lot of people plan to run on the heavy side of a class) Min. Race weight in these classes would then be: FA= 10.82x250+170= 2875 GA= 11x250+170= 2920 HA= 11.50x250+170= 3045 IA= 12x250+170= 3170 JA= 12.50x250+170= 3295 JA(Max)= 12.82x250+170= 3375 This is how I've been explained the rules. Also if you search back through old thread someone posted an excel file that is a GT class calculator. It's very helpful. Brad |
