Default IRP pit conditions

Has anyone been inside IRP recently? I'm wondering what the water table level is. It's extremely wet in the Detroit area right now and it appears that Indy has been getting more rain than we have.

Hello Mike

I am 2 hours south and to say it is wet would be a big understatement. I am not ready yet but, looks like a really bad way to get a season started.

It wouldn't surprise me if it got postponed. In Louisville we've had 10 inches of rain since this weekend with 3-5 more forecast.

If would be postponed, please let us know asap! Some of us may want to make other arrangements to race farther away and would need the extra travel day.

Also, please dont reschedule on top of Topeka national this year. We already lost St Louis and Memphis nationals events, Topeka is actually one of the closest for us now, at a mere 8 hours away....

Mike,

I was at the National Open a couple of weekends ago and the pits were in good shape then. We pitted in the grassy area close to the tear down shed and had no problems. It has rained a lot since then, so it may have degraded. I agree with Wade, let us all know as soon as you hear if we will have the race or not.

I would imagine that if they were to postpone it, it probably won't be until Thursday. I'm sure pit conditions and forecast will be watched closely. If they have to re-schedule, it will probably be a while, since the following weekend is Mother's day, and of course the week after that is the Norwalk LODRS.

I was driving past IRP a few hours ago, and the gates were open, so I went in to see how the pits looked. There was no standing water in the grassy pits west of the track, but more rain is forecast for the next few days, starting any minute.
