Unhappy stocker carpet

Hey gang! What is the best route to go for putting a carpet in 86 camaro stocker. I tried a big piece of home depot carpet but it is to hard to work with even though it is thin. I don't want any jute padding on the bottom but i prefer a press molded carpet. Thanks for any help

Find the cheapest formed carpet you can get and pull the backing off.

Auto Custom Carpets (ACC) will make you a molded carpet from their lightest weight carpet with no backing. Not bad on price either.

We used "aircraft" type carpeting---looks like a piece of scotchbrite when ya hold it up tp the light---real liteweight and thin too---used aerosol adhesive sparingly to hold it down and some emblem adhesive right along the edges----this stuff weighs almost nothing and not very expensive either plus it is durable---put snaps in around the trans tunnel for easy removal---get an auto upholstery guy to put edging on it so it wont unravel the edges--Comp 387

Cool Re: stocker carpet

Thanks guys! I may have to go with auto custom carpet because I am trying to match the rear section carpet as far as color and texture so it looks stock. And no i'm not going for best appearing car award. Thanks again for the response.
