Re: Girls Softball Trumps NHRA DragRacing!
I would rather watch some of those girls pitch a ball than watch the pros pitch a fit. It seems that is what gets the most air time when ESPN covers drag racing. I would change my tune if they would show equal amounts of the sportsmen racing.

Re: Girls Softball Trumps NHRA DragRacing!
NHRA made such a great deal signing up with ESPN. ANY stick and ball sport will come before lowly drag racing on ESPN. NHRA wonders why they can't sell advertising, and racers can't get sponsors. Probably because NHRA drag racing is as likely to be on at 1AM on Sunday or Monday as it is to ever see any exposure at a decent hour. They start preempting NHRA drag racing on their schedule before the ink dries on the new contract.

Oh Wait... breaking news, NHRA's check to ESPN bounced so the show has been canceled.

Re: Girls Softball Trumps NHRA DragRacing!
After having coached girls softball for a number of years and having watched NHRA's Pro coverage... I'd MUCH rather watch girls softball also!! Now if they had a S/SS show........ that'd be a different story.

Re: Girls Softball Trumps NHRA DragRacing!
Bad enough we had to watch Girls Softball instead of the Denver Finals, but a REPEAT of an earlier game because of a rain delay???
Does ESPN really think there are more people watching ASA Softball than NHRA Drag Racing?? Give me a break!! Lew - Still frustrated that my TiVo can't re-program itself!! -

Re: Girls Softball Trumps NHRA DragRacing!
I have DirectTV and set the series to run past the scheduled stop time by 2 hours, only way to guarantee a complete show is recorded....so I can fast fwd thru most of the fuel cars; about who I only cheer when Dixon wins (at Shumacher's expense) and Bernstein's car flops. Sure it would be a enjoyable show (with even full competitive fields) if long ago Garlits rules suggestions had been adopted instead of Bernstein's. The big corporate push has completely washed out NHRA's founding ideas.

I would rather watch paint dry than watch any fuel cars or a soft ball game....girls or men. Some may not agree but its a matter of choices.

Re: Girls Softball Trumps NHRA DragRacing!
My choice is ASA women's softball.... Sorry, but entertainment wise, they're way ahead of John Force and the rest, who almost always struggle to get a pair of pro cars to make a full pass down the track. Pro Stock and Pro Stock bike give us a decent show....but TF and FC classes are the same disappointing crap week after week.....Lew, bet if we took a poll here, Girls ASA softball would win over NHRA top fuel and funny car racing these days....Yes, it's gotten that bad....my .02 cents.
