Live from the Dinwiddie, VA - NHRA Virginia Nationals
Well folks, I'm going to give a shot at "live from" this weekend. As most of you know the car count is low for this race. There is plenty of room to park and no lines at the credential trailer, tech was also very quick.
Stock gets three shot as do all the other classes. Stock is at first out at 9:00 am. The weather is supposed to be warm but the morning shot will be about 65 with a high barometer. l here some of the cars that run B will be in A, I guess there trying not to get hp. Boudreau, Hawk I here are both in A. Ryan McClanahan is running B. I took some pictures and hope to get some more tomorrow. |

Re: Live from the Dinwiddie, VA - NHRA Virginia Nationals
Just got back from first qualifying for stock. Can't give you any numbers, but the air was 1500ft, temp 70, hum 60, and bar 29.78. cross wind about 4. The track was a little slick. More than a few got out of shape.
We Should get three shots today, weather will be good for the day. Its getting warm quick, so I don't think there will be any fast numbers. Will do Scott, I'm using a camera phone, shots are not that good, but I will do my best later today. |

Thanks for the posts. I think Brian is driving the Pontiac. Tell him hi from his biggest fan. I guess you better say hi to Ryan and Gary too.

Scott, I got some more pictures for you. It does not do this car justices. Rusty told me it has only 18,000 miles with the original interior and paint.
Floyd, I stand corrected, I did talk to Ryan for a little bit yesterday, I guess I misunderstood him. The CJ is very fast as you all know, we just got back from the 2nd qualifying. The CJ went 9.83 again at 139. Its a few slower then the first run, but not for him. |

Thanks Ken.
I've got a great picture of me putting a hole shot on Brian in the Pontiac. I don't know how to post it.

Scott, the blue Fairlane is my pal Rusty Johnson. It's a '67 that runs E/SA with a 390 with the Edelbrock heads and PI intake. It had a 427 with a 4 speed when he got it a few years ago. It is an amazingly original low mileage car. Everything still works, up to and including the horn! He's from the Atlanta area and also has a B/SA '69 Mustang that he brings out from time to time.

All of Rusty's cars are pristine! He has some fine looking and running FORDs. Nice pics Ken but aren't there any MoPars there? Jim
