In my case I took the factory exhaust hanger that mounts up high and duplicated it using wider steel and longer. Drilled holes to match factory. Took half hour to make and no new holes to drill.

On one car, it is in the trunk, right next to the cell. NHRA tech has never said anything about it.
On the other, it was mounted sort of up in the rear axle hump, away from the stuff that moves. We bought that car that way, and never changed it.
