I'm looking for some Pro gears for a Mopar rear. Seems that the Richmond gears are only street rated and other sources are imports. The set up s for a C/SA Dart. Any help? Thanks

Look at Motive and Strange and see if that is what you want.

The Richmond gears hold up quite well when set up properly. The pro gears are softer and usually used in 4 speed cars. A C/SA Dart with a 440 running 1 sec under should get a good 4 seasons on the street set.The pro set might be mush by then. The street gears can be softened a bit with good results, resulting in the best of both worlds. If the gears are not set up properly, as is typically the case with the 8 3/4, the extra money is wasted. Paul.

I bought my Motive Ring & Pinion from Mancini Racing in Roseville, Michigan. He also carries Strange and Richmond.

Go ahead and get the street gears, and then send them to Jim Bailey at FINISHED to have them REM-finished and Cryo'd.... stronger, more durable, more less friction. www.finishedracing.com

Does anyone sell pro gears still? I could not find them on Richmond's website anymore. I am looking for a set of 4.30 gears, for use in a Super-Gas car. When I ran street gears in it before, I was going through 2 sets per season. My original set of pro gears (came with the rolling chassis) worked for 2 seasons, and the set of custom-made pro gears (bought them from a stock/SS racer years ago) is still working after 2.5 seasons.
Regards,

For gear needs go to Strange direct or Mark Williams.
Both are very helpful if you call. They both know their products and both pay the contingencies on time should you get to that point. Both have good people. My 2 Cents |

Strange has a 4.86 pro gear, I think that the only pro gear you can get for the 8 3/4.
Good Luck |
