Good morning all, and sorry about the lack of reports and photos. The internet was pretty slow during the day as there was a large crowd here. Stock and Super Stock probably wont be out until after 1:00.
Its cooler today, but there is bright sunshine out this morning and should be all day. I am staying for the finals and will have more photos from today's action later today or tomorrow. Here some random shots for the Showdown cars and Super Stock. |

Factory Showdown qualifying was a descent show with several cars into the "O 's". DSR was number 1 on the final sheet, top speed was 174 and change. Track prep for qualifying was real good, it was sprayed and rubbed to 330'. Its a tuners game, and what a game to watch!

This should already be the case, with just two lanes. We have run a complete race with over 400 entries, 1 time trial, and 1 round of Re-Entry style buybacks in one day, numerous times.
I'm surprised there hasn't been chatter about this incident here... from Quarter Mile Media: Quote:
Sorry for what y'all experienced this weekend. I quit "volunteering" a couple of years ago. Don't miss NHRA, but I do miss the people.

One thing for sure there are several ways to look at these situations. When I come to a National I expect things to go bad, I expect to have my run pushed back to later in the day or whatever. I guess that's why it doesn't bother me, it can be frustrating if you let it but I look at it as more time to visit with friends. I'm here to have fun and that's what its all about anyway.
Now to some reporting, the weather took a complete about face last night, its cold windy and sunny. Should make for some interesting dialing today. Current numbers are atleast a 1000' from yesterday.

Also want to add that I'm sorry for my lack of reporting this weekend but I have both of my girls and my wife couldn't make it so I'm doing my "Super Dad" impression.

"NHRA Pro Mod Charlotte Q2 has been revised, disallowing Rick Hord's 5.711 @ 260.91 run from Q2.
The stated reason was even though the car passed post run inspection including review of data requisition, because Rick refused to provide NHRA with a hard copy, the run was ruled "illegal". Rick Hord stated that he spent a lot of money in developing his car and rightfully concerned with where a hard copy of proprietary info could end up." Although not stk/ss , this story is interesting from a general regulations standpoint , NHRA wanted alot of info, and the run was fast, but Charlotte is a big speed track because of the downhill slope.
