Seeing as David B was video taping the run, I am sure if they thought it gave Charlie some type of advantage there would have been a formal protest filed.

That is the biggest bs rule there is!! I think Super Stockers should be allowed to burnout across the starting line, especially if the track is questionable when others are spinning! I did it at the Gators a few years ago after 3 in a row blew the tires off in front of me! It got Rick Stewart out of his chair. But I hooked!

Oh, and congrats Charlie on a great run!

I think all cars should be required to burn past the starting line under power, and if you can't do it, you're out.

I would pay to see you do a long smokey burnout in the Turismo.

Amazing how some of you will always find something to bitch about. Do you guys cry and whine about everything else in life as well? May be we should have a "Dr Phil" forum on here so you can all cry to him and he will make you feel better. We can get Kleenex to sponsor it.

Great run Charlie, next time do a burnout to the 1/8th mile marker and give everyone the #1 salute as you roll back!

6 feet or 6 inches? LOL Well, i could really care less...but, if you pause the video right as you hear the car hookup (before letting off and clutching the car) look at the location of the car and the photo cells along the wall (which don't move) lol

As far as the run itself, VERY impressive and congratulations!

I do have these runs
Westcotts 8.221
Daniels 8.25

I'm trying to get a hold of record sheet to at least include those runs.
Stats goes to Howell's on Weds.
I could not get ahold of a qualifying sheet. But, I was standing next to both cars during those runs in question. What I saw.

Westcott
Fri 1 run 8.39 160+
Sat Run 1 8.25 160+
Run 2 8.25 160+ got REAL LOOSE around 3rd gear.
Sun Run 1 8.22 160+

Daniels
Sat Run 1 8.25 157+
Run 2 8.50? Spun in 3rd gear...That run it was flying would have been the run to beat.
Sun Run 1 Spun?

The track on Sat was real, real cold and there were major problems with bald spots and cars spinning. There were S/C dragsters blowing the tires off at the start. Westcott was the first car out every time. Also on Westcotts last run it is hard to see on the video but the water box was half way to the starting line. So cars were going a little farther with there burnouts. Great runs by both racers. Fun to watch.

I think daniels went 28, then shut off on 2nd saturday run, Than went 29 sunday. I am sure My (new) buddy David will get us all up to speed. Obviously that race was enjoyable for me cause things worked out for a change, but I would like to say that I have more fun at D2 events than anywhere else I ever go. Very laid back, 3 runs on saturday, and than cause some guys didnt get to back up their records on saturday, they gave everyone else another run on sunday. I have never seen that, you are lucky to get 2 runs at a D1 event. The track was prepped well as far as I was concerned, I think the guys with alot of power, and radials were having trouble down track, I never had any at all. They had T/S and T/D cars there, and for whatever reason it didnt take as long as it does usually, no crashes, do drama, and alot less staff than most races I have been to. I never met the new DD, but a couple people told me, including the staff I asked about it, that he is a great guy. I look forward to running down there again, and its too bad they dont have a sports national or something at that track. That would be killer, sportsnat at No Problem, and Valdosta, and no columbus.

There's a pic over here... http://classracer.com/classforum/showthread.php?t=29939 Seriously fun! (Ok, so it wouldn't make it over the line, but still fun!)

Hey, they could save some paper (or KB for the digital version) if they'd just delete all those silly rules from the rulebook that nobody really cares about anyway. We should get rid of the 6" height requirement for competition numbers on side windows, since most people don't have them that big anyway. What other rules do we want to vote out or just ignore? Can I get them to rescind the blue light and deep stage my car? After all, it'd just be whining if you had a problem with somebody deep staging. All it does is hurt themselves anyway, right? Shouldn't you be able to run Super Street and another class? I mean that's just stupid. I shouldn't need grade points, either. I'll just pay at the gate at the next national. Courtesy staging? Nah. Who cares what they said for lane choice?

Have rules, or don't have rules.

It was anywhere from mid 40's to 60 degrees from 10am - 6:30pm. That's going to be typical for this time of year, and I've run plenty of races in those temps and colder where the track was very good. If the track surface isn't working in those conditions, you either need a different compound, or different application thereof.

Why? Take control of the situation. Control the amount of water in the box, direct racers where to stop and start, etc. The better the burnout box and starting line are managed, the better they stay, and the easier they are to maintain. (Yes, I have worked the line before)

Back on topic: Those Hemi runs and videos were un-be-lievable! Awesome display, guys!
