This makes zero sense. If you have a car with bucket seats you're allowed to put a kirkey type seat in the car. However, if the car came with a bench you're not allowed to change to an OEM bucket or a kirkey type seat. I will never understand their method of thinking or rulings.

OK, how about this. 1964 max wedge Savoys came with a bench seat yet the 1964 Hemi Savoys came with lightweight bucket seats.
Can I put the Hemi seats in my Max wedge?

I agree with you Jerry. Makes absolutely no sense at all.

I have called NHRA and talked to Pat Crvengros and he said it was Legal to put full size aftermarket aluminum seats in my car. Not some cut down seat he told me that some SS racers tried doing a couple of years ago, but Full sized unholstered seats (Kirkey and others) and both seats had to match. That is the way the rule book reads for Stock and Super Stock word for word.

But nothing surprises me anymore.

I was planning on doing that but they don't have built in headrests and the seat belts were expired. Go figure!!

As long as you stich some cloth on it, you are good!

I'm having my entire bench seat remade out of carbon fiber and then covering it with lawn chair lacing.......

I tried acid dipping but the springs broke on the first launch and I had to have help getting out of the car.
