Lynn - I have a factory mini starter on my 68 Camaro w/ 400 sbc. Just ask for a starter for a 1998 K1500 w/ a 350. It's staggered bolt pattern and works great with the headers.O'Reilly part number is N613326A.

Don't you need a bell housing mount starter and not a block mount starter for the '57 #3731548 block? I only have a Tilton mini starter # which is 54-00015.

I called House of Payne about a starter for my car. He told me save your money and buy a GM mini starter reman # 6449 for a late 90's truck fits all the way up to 8.1L. You just have to be sure to get the correct bolts as they are a little shorter. You can find high torque reman and new on ebay and they work great. For me it works even better as my tow vehicle is a late 90's truck so the spare I have fits the racecar and the tow vehicle.
