Are these new classes just for the new high hp engines say 2010-2017 or can you use a old high hp engine say a 427 ford high riser in a fox body or a 454 in some small chevy body?

If you use an 08 or later motor (copo, scj, or dp) you run fgt. If it's an old motor say a big 69 396 or something, then its gt.

Many new classes which were requested 20years ago. Namely 6.0,6.5,7,7.5.
. Only problem is the separation into smaller and smaller numbers per class in the country. Makes it less and less likely for heads up runs at points meets or Open events. Limits the class sizes at Nationals too. Not sure when class will be eliminated at Nationals to save time. Fully Qualified field wouldn't change much for some but a few died in the wool Class racers would miss it. |
