I hope I got this right!!

Just a quick heads up on the NHRA rulebook.....

It is written in NHRA speak which means that it is encrypted in a code that only NHRA has the key to....

The next time you want to read and attempt to decode the rule book you have to start with a well-lighted area, a large cup of coffee (strike that) a large bourbon & seven and have at it....

Understanding and making sense of the NHRA takes years of practice..

Just ask any Stock or Super Stock racer..

I have the Waters set up. Not too fun to install.

If you go to any NHRA track and run the car on a regular bracket day or a test and tune day......A track official can and may tell you a trans shield is required on a 10 second car.

The rulebook has always had issues in there like this.

A Stocker did not need a fire jacket when a bracket car did in the past.
Now Stockers need jackets and pants so it's not an issue anymore.
A Stocker may not need a trans shield at an NHRA race where Stock is run but it does if it is a 10 second car at a regular bracket or T&T day...

I never had one but did see one is made for a Metric......

I run a shield on my stocker because I bracket race it also. In bracket racing 10.99 and quicker require one, so I run one.

Looks like McClay sells the Waters unit.
Based on the responses, I will use an SFI flexplate because I have one......will not attempt to install/fit a flexplate shield as it is not required.....and will likely install a trans shield for next year as I will probably bracket race as well as run NHRA/IHRA.
Thanks for all of your input.
