Although my son Corey & I were there this weekend to get his feet wet in his "new" AMX as part of the T&T and Footbrake events, it was a blast to see a bunch of the WVa AMC friends I've made over the years for the first time in w-a-y too long. Elmer & Kathy are first-class people with a nice facility well worth our 3-hour drive. Mike did a great job w/ his race, had a record turnout, and when you throw in the great weather, the weekend couldn't have been much better.
Looking forward to 2012... -Don Bangs |

The 41 cars was about as big as a normal Sunday race for car count. Larry 'Bunk' Miller, who won this race in '04 and was R/U in '09, just missed the tree, and takes home $1K for the r/u. We had 73 total cars for the weekend; several broke on Saturday or Sunday morning. Weather was great; sunny, a bit breezy, and air that, most of the weekend, corrected to numbers at or below sea level. The track, which was a bit suspect at times Saturday, was much better for Sunday. I thank everyone who came out this past weekend (and to all the racers who attended our events in 2011). 2012 should be a better year with possibly some money/sponsors coming on board. So if you don't get caught up in the usual 'spending 3-4 days at a track chasing a Wally' kind of stuff, come out and race with us next season. It's the only way our series will be able to continue beyond next season. Look forward to seeing you in 2012!!
