Default Re: Synthetic Auto Trans Fluid....

I have been using the Mobil 1 Syn Trans fluid for about 15 years. I have a friend with Mobil Oils Marketing and he gave me some when it came out sometime in the 1990's. It worked so well I have used it every since. No need to heat it up. It works the same for consistancy cold as hot. Just drive it to the staging lanes and when the motor is warm the tranny will be OK. After hot lapping it in eleminations on a hot day I have yet to see the tranny temp to go over 160 to 170. I do use a cooler and it seems to take care of it. In my powerglide I used the same band for 8 or 9 seasons putting 150 to 200 passes a year on the trans with a freshening each season. There is virtually no wear on clutches each year. It is the only tranny fluid I use for racing. I also use the Mobil 1 gear oil in the rear end and Mobil 1 oils in the engine. All work well for me.
