Re: Fuel Pump Recommendation

Did have a very informative conversation with Aeromotive. Unfortunately, the space I had available was limited and was geared around the BG pump and filter. I would not be able to make the Areomotive pump and filter fit so I had to opt for the Magnafuel pump and filter set up which fit with a small amount of additional fabrication and fuel line. Bob |

Re: Fuel Pump Recommendation
Not familiar with the magnafuel, but I have used the PE pumps and they are great. Noise is not significant. Nothing like the Weldon, which are crazy loud (but well worth it in our EFI application, IMHO).

Re: Fuel Pump Recommendation
you all are out of your mind .... WELDON is the way to go....
The Weldon pump has HUGE advantages over the competitors 1) They pay Contingency (national & divisional) 2) They have a LIFETIME GUARANTEE on the pump and parts 3) The pumps that we run on our race cars are the same pumps that the US Millitary use for the hydraulic systems on the Drones that fly over our war zones. (they can NOT fail there) 4) The prices for their pump is competitive with every other pump manufacturer. So why else would you choose ANYTHING ELSE? For me WELDON for life |

Re: Fuel Pump Recommendation
Anyone have an issue with fuel pressure going to 0 on launch? Had no issues using A2000 Aeromotive pump, and using same setup, bought a megnafuel quickstar300 pump/filter combo cause I liked their filter setup. About 3 tenths off the transbrake, rackpak shows fuel pressure spikes down to zero, right back up, then right back to zero then back up, then fine the rest of the run. Same results when checked pressure on both high side and low side location. Sent in fuel pump and regulator to megnafuel, said everything checked out fine, but did put new o-rings in the pump. Reinstalled and had same problem. Put my Aeromotive pump back on with no issues. megnafuel said they had no idea why this would happen. After further investigation, I was told by another major pump manufacturer to stay away from the pump/filter combo's with the vertical filter's as they can cause this. At least it was a problem in my case..

Re: Fuel Pump Recommendation
If the gauge is liquid(glycerin) filled, swapped it out for a non liquid filled gauge.

Re: Fuel Pump Recommendation
I replaced my BG500 with Weldon and won IHRA Div 1 Hot Rod Championship the same year. Weldon makes a great product.

Re: Fuel Pump Recommendation
Bricki--- probably that fuel line is too small and you might have a lot of bends in it which will either cause restriction or aeration of the fuel---- remember pressure is one thing volume is another---- try to take the pressure closest to the carb---also when setting the pressure with an Aeromotive remember that the engine MUST be running you cannot do it correctly with the engine OFF!!!! I don't think you need a return line with that low of a HP engine either.
