I hear ya Mr. Shady. Riding SHOTGUN in a race car on an old country road is a little far fetched for me too......This thread has been officially hijacked.....

Mark
I see your running a HEI and no spark box, and I don't see a pcv?? Have you tried other set ups?? Just curious because on my street cars both showed HP on the dyno.

I ran the HEI because I had not had a chance to rewire the car yet, and the fuel system seemed more important to me with the time I had to work with. Same with the testing, time was limited. What exactly did you see with the PCV valve, if you don't mind. Trying to get everything legal for this season. My oil pressure drop situation in the lights kept me from working on the metric trans along with a gear change. I've never even tuned on the car at the track or tried my other carbs. I will say this, the 1 time I've raced the car it put me in the winners circle!

We tried a few things with the PCV, one was as stock with it in a breather and the other side vented. We vented the passenger side. We also tried 2 pcv and no vent, showed HP on the dyno but no et difference. The pcv in the end of the breather that you have worked the best as the breather acted like an oil separator. This is how I set up my street cars also.

After finishing the year with a best of 1.01 under the F/SA index losing some MPH since the engine was first built, I suspect the short block of being tired I plan to build a new short block and change the trans this winter. Of course I will post pictures as I go, followed with a dyno test with data, followed with a track test. I need to make a decision on the bore size and piston to wall clearance, I think I've got a handle on the bearing clearance from my previous testing. I will be nitrating the crank this time as well.

Still a good deal for the short block. The pistons cost more than that.
