Default Stock Head Rules [Fast or Slow]

What engines combinations will slow down and what will pick up. Do not name any players just combinations.

How about adding to that statement piston dome enforcement.

What I am looking for is what happens with the runner volumes numbers are put into action. It's been told before that stockers would not make it thru tear down in superstock. There is alot of heads that will have to be smaller. People will slow down and some will go faster.

My "GUESS" is the 428 Fords, 440 mopars, Max wedge Mopars, Iron Oval Port Big Block Chebbies, Some small block 350 Chebbies, and a few others such as 360 Mopars. Your Square port version will not slow down because its almost to big already new from the factory. The Alum. replacement head on the 375/396's will slow down because they are almost like an oval port new in the box and have been "massaged" for the most part. Im sure Ive missed several but these just come to mind right off.. My opinions and they means ZIP. Have a great Holidays Bobby. P.S. Most of the power gain is in the first inch below the valve seat so its not always the size (volume) of the port but the SHAPE.

I'm not so sure that's completely true on the 401 head. With the new "any valve job" rule that does not give a depth specification, there's a lot you can do in that area below the seat. How they intend to account for that in the port volume rule I have no idea.

Talking Re: Stock Head Rules [Fast or Slow]

One more thing....depending on the company that made the piston being used the Replacement Max wedge mopar head and the replacement Alum big blok chebbie head both need to be "Massaged" in the combustion chamber area slightly so the dome of the piston does not hit. Is that legal.....lol.
