Default G body manual steering box

Working on a 78 G body car. What is the best, and most economical way to change it to manual steering?

I did the standard rebuilt Vega box. Speedway has a box now. S10 is just a little bigger and safer to use then the Vega due to weight. I've had mine for about 12 years.

I used S10 boxes on my El Camino.Regal,Monte Carlo, and Seville. No modification needed.

I see that Speedway has one the call the "drag racing conversion box" Do you need to get the one with the pitman arm,or will the stock pitman arm work? Thanks for the info.

I believe it's same spline for stock arm. They also have straight arm or I think deep bent arm.

Yes and no...
The frame bolt pattern hasn't changed in decade in that series.
The small pitman arm pattern (non-power) is still the same .
Where you might find trouble is in the steering shaft.
S10s are metric vehicles.
