Tell the new IHRA Owner that there is a beautiful Auto facility in N.W. Arizona (right off Interstate I-40 in Beautiful Yucca, AZ between Kingman, AZ and Needles, CA, up for sale now that has every type of auto racing track known to man Formerly the Ford Proving Grounds and now the Chrysler Proving Grounds that would not only make a great IHRA Drag Racing location but would/could become a Premier All around MotorSports Facillity for all types of auto racing. It it huge, it also has a huge price tag attached, has been used for decades as nothing but private auto mfg. Automotive Proving Grounds is in pristine condition and only needs spectator stands installed.
Yes, it is also in the dead center of nowhere in the desert. But, that means fewer local residents to drive it out of business or complain about noise. And located dead center of the Phoenix, L.A.(SoCal), and Las Vegas Metro areas. We could sure use an IHRA Track out west (right dead center in the middle of Firebird, Pomona, and the Las Vegas Speedway complex!) Sure, it would take a conglomerate of Billionaires to get it and get it off the ground, but the possibilities are endless once they snatch it up! Google Maps...Yucca, AZ go look at the overhead view you cannot miss the For Sale Facillity! (Bonus...it is only a 20 min drive from my house at AZ friendly 75MPH Interstate speeds). It would almost make me move a bit west to Yucca so I could drive across the street to race (no complainers there about noise either as far as existing residents, because most of those that live locally are under U.S. Marshall's protection...a very well know fact, and they would shy away from exposure it could cause).

I get the excitement over IHRA coming back and it's like Christmas morning and you come downstairs to a new bike and first thing you want to do is ride it around the neighborhood to show all your friends but I feel like they should have got all their ducks in a row first, and you know what if 2026 is the year you roll out a schedule then do so at least it looks like the right thing.
The problem is everyday it is something else, they bought the track, no they didn't, yes we did....etc, it's like a grade school fight over a girl who's spreading rumors about what you did behind the school after hours, I mean maybe it will work for them and the success will be amazing, but time will tell. To me it's going to be tough when you announce a schedule in March, a lot of business owners want PTO in by December for the next year, so trying to get off or if your independent your now adding more weeks / weekends off to your schedule and money income (I know 60% of everyone on here is retired but, there are a few working scrubs still out doing this). I mean right now we're Mid-March, no rule book as to what they are going to allow or not, no payouts or entry fees, I have faith that Rich & Allen will get the ship moving but sometimes you have to pump the brakes to make sure they are working properly and I feel they just floored the gas with a cliff up ahead. |

I have 8 weeks of PTO but just started a new position with my company a few months back, I had my 2025 racing plans set but the new position has like 20 less people so my boss already told me that I'll prob lose my time at years end because they can't guarantee all my PTO and I don't call out sick, just not how I was raised.

Location and climate Yucca is located in southern Mohave County, 35 miles (56 km) north of Lake Havasu City, 24 miles (39 km) southwest of Kingman, the county seat, and 38 miles (61 km) east of Needles, California. Yucca has a hot desert climate (K?ppen BWh) with brutally hot summers and cool winters. In summer, it is normal to record temperatures above 110 ?F (43 ?C) for days on end, while in winter it is very mild with practically no snowfall: the highest rainfall in a month is merely 4.0 inches (0.10 m). The average minimum temperatures in the winter are usually 30 to 45 ?F (−1.1 to 7.2 ?C). The sun shines throughout the spring and early summer, and most of the limited rain falls from extratropical lows in the cooler months.

I don't think so. I believe they mean to purchase and own them. Not sure what that will look like as far as running and managing them and if any changes will be seen with that respect.

IHRA FINALIZES PURCHASE OF GALOT MOTORSPORTS PARK March 30, 2025 by Bobby Bennett The International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) has finalized the purchase of GALOT Motorsports Park. The facility was acquired from the Wells family, who transformed it from the former Dunn-Benson Dragstrip since their purchase in 2013. ?We?re excited to announce we have acquired this first-class racing facility,? said IHRA CEO Christian Byrd. ?It is both racer and spectator-friendly, which has proven to be a great host of special events. We look forward to adding more great events to the schedule.? |
