Re: 2025 LODRS Schedule
BKSG1198 "The only downfall I see is everyone is going to have a Grade 8 in 2026 and trying to get into a National Event just became tougher."
And NHRA keeps lowering the entry quota. What kind of logic is this.

Re: 2025 LODRS Schedule
I do understand both sides to the double header or not formats.
One downside with the double is if you have an issue with the car that can?t be dealt with at the track at the first race you?re hosed on two divisional. Not a big deal 95% of the time but a factor. Now I?ll say the doubles would be a lot easier for me to swallow if they were Thursday through Sunday. Wednesday to Saturday is pretty rough on work schedule and vacation. Regarding Sunday as a rain day I get it, but if Monday was a rain day you have, what, 75% less people that need to take another day off from work compared to everyone needing to burn at least 3 days in a row, if not 4 with travel distance. We already accepted that reality for national Events, tough to swallow for divs in my opinion Kp |

Re: 2025 LODRS Schedule
Because they know we will keep lining up to attend even if they raise the entry fee to $600

Re: 2025 LODRS Schedule
Bottom line is doubles don’t work for most with a real job and limited time off. It also doesn’t work for some business owners too. It’s a whole lot easier to take a Friday off and leave for an event Thursday after work. That said, I can see how doubles appeal to the over 65 crowd, retirees, which represent a large number of class racers.

Re: 2025 LODRS Schedule
I like doubles for the added value you get for the long distance travel required. The problem is that they often add extra classes that do not need to be at the LDRS. Junior dragsters, bracket racers, shootouts etc all add time to the schedule that end up adding days. If these extra classes were not run at the LDRS races, there is no reason a double race couldn't be run Friday - Sunday with Thursday being an optional test n tune. For the working guys a morning qualifying pass on Saturday before the eliminator could make it a Saturday-Sunday double race.

Re: 2025 LODRS Schedule
The NHRA has a tough enough time finishing 1 divisional Saturday and Sunday no mind a double. It’s not entirely their fault,, the racers have a lot to do with it. For one, they don’t want to race under the lights

Re: 2025 LODRS Schedule
With the shortage of race tracks on the west coast, doubles have pretty much become necessary, unfortunately.

Re: 2025 LODRS Schedule
Look at the Division 5 schedule. If you live on the west side of the Division, doubles only make sense and add the drive to Division 6 Yellowstone. Yellowstone, by the way, is a great track and the people that run it make it a great place to race at.

Re: 2025 LODRS Schedule
I am a fan of the doubles, however like most would prefer a Thursday-Sunday schedule. Most of the time Sunday is not even utilized, the program is just shortened (Cbus SportsNats for example).
I am 35 and work a full-time job, so to me I am going to take the days regardless of if they are spread out or a double, however it does save on some fuel. My worthless 2 cents.. Casey FJ U/SA 3480 |
