I've seen too many variabes in factory mass production machining to say No.

I got to where I just lightly trimmed (.001-.002) the caps and dusted the main bores with the align hone on ever engine I built. It was amazing what I ran into.
If it is a SBS or BBC be sure to install the oil pump. When it is torqued it affects the rear main bore.
